USA Trip Update

I am in America right now reporting in to some of our supporting churches and going to a few new churches.  I arrived into Atlanta on Thursday night and stayed the night at Mark Coffey’s house.  On Friday morning, Mark Coffey, Bro. Aaron and I taught at the Our Generation Training Centre.  Following class, Chris Fies and I went up to pick up a car in Gainesville that Donald Bloom volunteered to let me drive while I was here.  I left Atlanta at about 6:00 PM after picking up our display banner and headed to Paducah, KY.

I arrived into Paducah, KY at about 1:30 AM and stayed with Teri’s brother David and his wife Crystal.  It was great to see them again and their children.  On Saturday afternoon, I left Paducah and drove about 6 hours up to Princeville, IL.  I stayed the night in the prophet’s chamber at Princeville Baptist Church and then taught the adult Sunday school and preached at the church on Sunday.  It was great to see Pastor Lee Taylor and his family again and to see the growth of the church.  It is hard to believe that it had been 7 years since we were last at their church.  Princeville Baptist has been a very faithful supporter of our ministry, and we appreciate so much their faithfulness.

On Sunday afternoon following dinner with the Taylors, I drove to Danvers Baptist Church in Danvers, IL.  We had been to the church on deputation when Pastor Thacker was there, but they have a new pastor now – Bro. Steve Taylor.  It was great to be at the church again, and it was privilege to be able to preach the evening service.  I was encouraged to see how God is working in and blessing that church.

Following the Sunday night service, I just in the car and headed up to Watertown, WI.  It took me about 4 1/2 hours to drive up, so I arrived there at about 1:30 AM.  Dave Hockman, a professor at Maranatha Baptist Bible College, and his family have been my hosts since I arrived.  Dave led the team of students from the college over to Ireland this past summer.  It has been great to catch up with him and his family.  Today, I spoke in the college chapel to the over 800 students.  It was honour to show a short video and talk about preparing for the mission field and for God’s will.   After chapel, it was great to get to talk with Dr. Marriot, the president of Maranatha.

I will be staying with the Hockmans and hanging out around Maranatha until Wednesday morning, when I will head over to Flint, MI.  Thank you for praying safety as I travel.  Please pray for my health as I think I have caught some kind of flu.
