Technology 101 for Missionaries – Part 3

Part 1 & Part 2

Facebook

This is another great way to connect with people and for them to stay up to date with your ministry. On Facebook, you can share updates, send links to your blog/website, and connect with people. Facebook and twitter are great for helping drive traffic to your blog/website. I also use LinkedIn as well for the same reason.

Ifttt

This is a neat little site for “If this, then that.” In other words, if I want something to be put on Twitter and Facebook every time I blog, I can set that up on Ifttt. This means I don’t have to do it manually; it just happens everytime I post something on my blog. Also, there are many other scenarios for things that you want done that you can set up on Ifttt.

NetNewsWire

This a great free programme that has really helped me with reading people’s blogs and staying up to date with news, etc. It can be downloaded and then you can subscribe to blogs and rss feeds. It makes it easier than using something like google reader, etc.

If you have any questions or I can be of help in any way, just let me know. I also know some real smart guys who might be able to help you with your technology problems or point in the right direction. Thank you so much.
