Ministry Update – Youth Meeting, Volunteer Recognition, Northern Ireland Trip, Easter Services

On Friday, we had a great time at youth club, with Victoria Young from Bethesda sharing her testimony of salvation. It was a very encouraging to hear how God has been working in her life and how she is standing for God.

Sunday, we recognised many of our volunteers who serve in the greeting, stewarding, media, finance, and administration ministries of our church. I am so grateful for all those folks who serve in so many ways at Downham Baptist Church. Also, on Sunday afternoon, we had a good group going out with gospel tracts, invitation, and Easter eggs inviting people to our Easter workshop and service.

This week, we are in Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland, helping Northwest Baptist Church with outreach and ministry. It is great to have a people from a number of different churches and places across the UK & Ireland here serving, fellowshipping, and sharing the love of Christ.

It has been really encouraging for our family to see many friends that we have known for a number of years. It is always great to see how God is using James Wilson to preach the Word of God with power and proclaim the gospel in the city of Derry/Londonderry.

A good friend, Josh Moore and his family are here as well with a group from Carrick Baptist Church in Carrick-on-Shannon. We have known them since 2010, and God is really using them in the West of Ireland. Please pray for their ministry.

Please pray as we will be out on the streets today sharing the gospel. Then pray for this coming weekend, especially with it being Easter. We have an Easter workshop on Saturday in Downham, and then Sunday, we have our Resurrection Sunday service followed by lunch. Pray for people to believe on Christ this Easter.

  1. Thanks for the update Travis. I hope with the history of the UK there is still a tenderness for the tradition of Easter that will draw some to church so they can hear the message of Salvation and the power of the Resurrection. Thanks for your continued work and efforts!

    1. Hello Zach, unfortunately I really think for most people that tenderness is long gone (if it was ever there), but it does give us an excuse to talk to them about Christ, the resurrection, and the gospel. And that is always a plus. Thanks so much for your prayers and encouragement.
