God Doesn’t Want Our Leftovers (Leviticus 22)

Leviticus 22:24 24 Ye shall not offer unto the Lord that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land.

The offerings they brought to the Lord were to be “without blemish” (22:19). Anything that was blemished in any way – bruised, crushed, broken or cut –  was not to be offered. God wanted the first and the best, because He is God and He deserved their best.

How often do we give God leftovers of our time, of our finances, of our energy? If he is God, then we ought to be giving Him our very best. May God get our first and best today.

Mark 12:30 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
