USA Update 2

It has been one week since I updated on my trip, so I wanted to bring you up to speed on how things have been going.  Last Tuesday, I spend the day around Maranatha Baptist Bible College.  It was great to be able to meet with some of the students and meet with the team that came over to visit with us on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday morning, I drove about 9 hours from Watertown, WI to Flint, MI to give a report and preach at Dixie Baptist Church which has been a very faithful supporting church over the years.  I really enjoyed catching up with the people and meeting many of the new folks there.  They were such a blessing to us while we were there.

I stayed in Michigan on Wednesday night, drove about 4 hours to Ashland, Ohio to eat lunch with some old friends, Eric Humble and Lukas Donough, and then drove a few more hours to my parents’ house in Kilgore, Ohio.  My brothers and their families came over, and we had a great time together as a family.

On Friday, I did some study and work.  Thursday night, we went to the Men’s Conference at Mansfield Baptist Temple.  It was great to be there with my dad and two brothers.  It was very good to see many friends there as well.  Dr. Adkins, the staff, and the men at Mansfield Baptist Temple are a huge blessing.  That is the church where I was saved, baptised, and surrendered to go to the mission field.

On Saturday, we finished up the conference, drove to Kilgore, Ohio, and then I drove about 7 hours to Chilhowie, VA.  Sunday morning, I gave a report at Chilhowie Baptist Church.  Sunday evening, I gave a report at Rich Acres Baptist Church in Martinsville, VA.  Once again, the folks at both these churches were such a blessing.

Monday, I worked for a while and drove to meet with the Bloom family who have lent me their car to drive while I am here.  They are a very sweet family and have a great desire to serve the Lord.  Today, I was at the Georgia Independent Baptist Preachers’ Fellowship at Forrest Hills Baptist Church.  Tonight, I will go eat with some friends, and then tomorrow I drive to be in a missions conference at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Theodore, AL.

Thank you so much for all your prayers.  I am feeling much better since last week.  The Lord has been watching over me as I drive.  In the last ten days, I have driven nearly 3,000 miles.  I have about 500 more to go, and then I am looking forward to being back in Northern Ireland on next Tuesday.
