And Men Blasphemed God – Revelation 16

And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.’ — Revelation 16:21

Revelation 16 contains an account of the seven bowl judgments which follow the seals and the trumpets. These judgments happen in rapid succession and with incredible intensity. They include judgments on the men, on the sea, on the rivers, on the sun, on the kingdom of the beast, on the air, and hailstones that weigh as much as 100 pounds.

All of these judgments may seem shocking, but what is interesting is that God is simply allowing the natural elements to not continue their same gracious goodness to mankind. For centuries men mock and ignore God. They take His grace and kindness for granted. They reject Him and rebel against Him.

And more shocking than the judgments is the fact that no matter how good God is to them or how much judgment He will pour out in the end, they will still blaspheme God and hate God. They would rather die than repent.

Don’t make that mistake. Don’t be a fool. Humble yourself today under the mighty hand of the Lord. Call out to Him and be saved, so you will not have to go through the coming period of the Lord’s wrath!
