Faith That Can Be Seen – Mark 2

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.” — Mark 2:5

We often think of faith in terms of something that is an attitude, a way of thinking, something that is intangible and cannot be seen. Yet, in Mark 2, we read that Jesus “saw their faith.” Their faith was visible to Jesus.

How was He able to see it? Well of course, Jesus knows the heart of man, so He can see what we cannot see. But it was also seen in their actions.

They believed so strongly in Jesus and His ability to heal, that they tore up the roof of the house to get the lame man to Jesus. Their faith was seen by their works.

I wonder if Jesus can see our faith? Is it obvious to Him that we believe Him? Do we show our faith by the works we do for Him, the way we live our lives, the kind of prayers we pray, the way we give, the way we witness, how we obey?

I want Jesus to see my faith today and this week. I want to act on what I say I believe and what I know to be true. I want to get people to Jesus. I want the truth about Him to change every aspect of my life and how I live.
