The Lord Knows – Jer 17

Yet, Lord, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.

Jeremiah 18:23

Jeremiah is being faithful to hear and give God’s Word. But the people really don’t like what he has to say.

So, they ‘devise devices’ against him. They plan to ‘smite him with the tongue’ and to not give heed to any of his words. They also dig a pit for him. They do not like the message, so they make plans to attack the messenger.

No doubt, those who are faithful to give God’s Word and share the gospel will face the same kind of hostility and rejection.

We must learn from the example of Jeremiah to keep being faithful to do what God asks us to do.

We must learn to take it all to the Lord in prayer and trust Him with these accusations.

We must cast our cares upon Him, knowing that He knows everything they saying and doing and that He will deal with them accordingly.
