The Lord Knows Me – Ps 139
Psalm 139:1,6 1 O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me…Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain unto it.
The Lord searches us and knows us. He knows when we sit down and when we rise up. He knows our thoughts before we even think them. He knows all our ways, all our words. There is nowhere we go, that He is not there. There is no darkness so dark that He cannot see. He knew us even before we were born. He oversaw our design. His thoughts about us are more than the sand of the sea.
These incredible, wonderful truths about God are too wonderful (v.6). As a result, we should praise the Lord (v.14). We can rest in the Lord knowing that when we awake we are still with the Lord (v.18). We should always yield to the Lord and seek to live righteously knowing that He knows everything about us (v.23-24). The wicked are also know and will be judged by the Lord (v.19-22).
God in heaven, thank You that You know everything about me and are everywhere I am. These facts both excited and scare me. Thank You that because I am in Christ, I don’t have to fear at all. All my sins are already covered and forgiven. I am complete in Christ, and I am have full access to Your presence. I will never come into condemnation and nothing can separate me from Your love. I praise You, God, for loving, saving, forgiving, and indwelling me. Help me to live out who I am in Christ today without fear.
