That was the situation in Jeremiah 7. God sent His prophet Jeremiah to tell them of their errors. And to let them know that He had repeatedly spoken to them, but they did not listen.
No matter how many times he sent messengers to warn them, they still persisted in their sin and rebellion.
What a challenge this for us as well! At some point, we need to just listen and obey the Word of God. If not, then we will face the consequences.
May God help us to obey the Lord and to listen to His warnings when we don’t. So much pain could be avoided if we just obeyed the Lord!
