God of the Details (Deuteronomy 23)

0

Deuteronomy 23:14 For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.

God is interested in all the details of our life. We see this in Deuteronomy 23. He gave them instructions about how they were to conduct themselves in a way that would be pleasing to him, even in the little details of how they disposed of human waste and who was/wasn’t permitted to participate in worship.

The fact of God’s presence among them, walking in their midst, protecting and delivering them, was to be a big motivator to please God even in the small details of life.

We should also consider how God would want us to live in even the smallest of life’s details. He is a great God, and what He wants from us ought to be our biggest concern.
