‘And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not…’ — Revelation 9:20
The description of the tribulation the world will endure in the end times is terrifying. Revelation 9 describes a time of suffering unlike the world has ever seen, with demons tormenting men for five months and then an army of 200 million killing one-third of the world’s population.
The shocking thing about this period is not just the global suffering but the unwillingness of men to repent. Even though they are clearly facing the wrath of God, the men who remain on the earth during this time refuse to repent of their sin, idolatry, murder, sorcery, fornication, and theft.
The comments in Revelation about the people not repenting show us that God wants men to repent and come to Him. He uses grace and goodness to lead people to repentance. In the end, He uses judgment to awaken men to their need to repent. Yet most will not.
What have you done with Christ? What do you do about sin? Have you repented and believed on Christ? Don’t harden your heart as these people do.
