Trust and Keep on Trusting – Hebrews 10

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.’ — Hebrews 10:35–37

After establishing the complete and sufficient sacrifice of Christ for us (10:1-18), we are encouraged to draw near to God (v.22), to hold fast our profession (v.23), and to consider one another to provoke one another to love and good works (v.24).

As children of God, we trust in the Lord for salvation, but we need to keep on trusting and keeping on believing the Lord (v.35). We should not cast away our confidence. We know that the reward will be great. We just need to be patient in our waiting, and not give up (v.36). Christ is coming and will not delay His coming (v.37). So let us keep trusting, keeping waiting, and keep believing.

What is our faith based on? Who are we trusting? How certain are we of God’s salvation and Christ’s return? If we really believe the Lord, then let us keep on believing and keep on trusting even when it is hard, even when the delay is long, and even when want to give us.
