Ministry Update – Fire, Election, Sutton Church Plant, Discipleship, Upcoming Events

Grenfell Fire – Last Wednesday, we woke up to the news that a 24-storey tower block of flats (apartments) in west London was on fire. Sadly, as a result of what is now considered the deadliest fire in Britain in 100 years, over 70 people are now dead. The outpouring of both shock and sympathy in our city was incredible. As people with the gospel message, these things reminds of how urgent it is that people believe the good news before it is too late. Please continue to pray for us and for God to raise up more labourers to take the gospel around the world.

General Election – There was also a general election for members of Parliament last week that continues to reveal how divided Britain is in its views, demographics, and needs. Please pray for those in authority here and for people to put their hope in Christ.

Community Baptist in Sutton – This past Sunday, I preached for a friend Ryan Strother who planted this church in Sutton (South London) a while ago. Please pray for this church plant and for other areas that need the gospel across this city.

Discipleship and Growth – Each week, we continue to meet with various individuals and groups to study the Bible and go through discipleship courses. We recently started a men’s book club in which we meet to reach and discuss different Christian books. We are grateful for how God is building His church. Please pray for the growth of those we are discipling.

Upcoming Events – Next week, Teri and I are going away for a few days for our 15th anniversary. On Sunday, 2nd July, we have Pastor David Moore speaking on End Times. Then on 9th July, we have a mission team from Gospel Baptist Church in Greenville, Ohio here and a community BBQ. Pray for gospel opportunities through all of this.

  1. Congrats on 15 years to you and Terri. Exciting stuff and a great testimony. What do people in London eat for BBQ?

    1. Thanks, Zach. BBQ here is what we call a cookout. Usually burgers and sausages, but often some Jamaican Peri Peri Chicken as well!
