October 2021 Update | New Position as VBM General Director

On September 19, we had the “Grand Opening” of Headgate Baptist Church in Colchester. What a blessing to have friends from several churches around the country attend as well as some visitors from the local area! Colchester is actually where Charles Spurgeon was converted to Christ many years ago. It is now a city of over 200,000 people and continuing to grow. There is a great need for more strong, Bible-believing, gospel-preaching churches across the United Kingdom.

Last month, Downham Baptist Church celebrated eight years since it was started back in 2014. We continue to praise the Lord for how He has blessed this church. It is encouraging to see the church mature and take on more and more responsibility and develop a greater vision to reach out with the gospel.

Also last month, Grant had the opportunity to intern in Burkina Faso for a month with missionaries Jason and Charity Rishel. We are very grateful for the opportunity he had to minister and learn there and for the Rishel family for hosting him.

Finally, over the past five weeks, we have been wrestling with a very big decision. The directors of Vision Baptist Missions asked me to consider serving as the new General Director of Vision Baptist Missions, overseeing about sixty missionary families and helping them as they plant churches and train men around the world.

After much prayer and counsel, we believe that this is the direction the Lord is leading us. We will be continuing on with our work in the United Kingdom until August of 2022, after which time our family will move back to the States to take on this new ministry responsibility. This is not a paid position, and we will continue to live by faith and need missionary support.

We wanted to make you aware of this change, and ask for your ongoing prayers and support as we follow the Lord and do the work He has called us to do. Also, please pray for the leaders and the churches here in the United Kingdom that we will leave behind. We are confident that the Lord is going to continue to do great things through them.

We will do our best to get in touch directly with each church that supports us, but please do contact us if you have any questions about this new ministry direction.
