September 2022 Update
Transition Time – After our last Sunday in the UK, we were blessed to be able to take a few weeks of vacation, traveling and seeing some places in Europe. We made the trip in a motorhome which was fun but also challenging with a small accident in Germany and all of our luggage getting stolen in Rome. Despite these “mishaps,” the trip gave us space as a family to be together after a very stressful season, to make some memories, and to process our transition to the US from the UK.
Warmly Welcomed – After a lengthy series of flights, we arrived in America on August 24th. We have been well cared for by our home church family, Vision Baptist Church, and the staff at Vision Baptist Mission have warmly welcomed us. We are so thankful for the opportunity to participate in our home church missions conference and rehearse all that God has done with us (see Acts 14:27).
New Home – We have rented a house in Dawsonville, Georgia, near to the campus of Vision Baptist Missions. Our children have started school locally. Please pray for all of us as we adjust to a new way of life and readjust to our home culture.
New Ministry – There is much to do with our new ministry at Vision Baptist Missions. The fall semester of classes at the Our Generation Training Center started on September 6th. Travis is teaching classes on “Studying the Bible” and “The Doctrine of the Bible.” Also, the VBM Stateside Team held a “Youth for the Gospel” event (see photo) in Pickens, South Carolina with a number of young people attending to learn about mission work. If you’re interested in hosting a one-day missions event for young people at your church, let us know.
Trip to Africa – On September 11th, Travis travelled to South Africa for the VBM Africa Regional Conference. Travis will be spending time with VBM missionaries to Africa and seeking to encourage them in their ministries. Please pray for God’s blessings on this trip.
Thank You – Thank you for praying for us. The last few months have not been easy, but we rest in the Lord’s direction and protection.
