April 2020 Update

On March 5th, the first person in the UK died of the coronavirus. Since then, 2,352 have died from the virus, an average of 294 people per day. This is indeed a shocking number, but it is only a small percentage of the over 1600 people who die each day all across the UK from all sorts of causes including things like the coronavirus. This epidemic has brought into laser focus the reality of death and the frailty of life. It should awaken Christians to our responsibility to reach the world with the gospel (1 Cor 15:34). And it should be our prayer that it will awaken unbelievers to their need to believe on Jesus!

We had some amazing meetings this month, spending much of the month in the northern states of Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Once again it was great to spend time with family and friends along the way. We are so thankful for God’s protection and provision. He continues to pour out His blessings on us. We are very thankful for a few more churches that have agreed to partner with us. This will help to replace some lost support and provide additional funds for new ministry endeavours.

With many churches temporarily suspending their services, we presented our ministry and preached via livestream at two churches at the end of last month. Several other meetings have been affected, but we hope to get back on the road soon as the Lord allows. If you’d like us to participate in your church’s livestream, please let us know.

I have been recording video sermons for Downham Baptist Church in London as well as hosting an online prayer meeting for them. Please pray for the church there to be strengthened through this time and to have opportunities to share the gospel. We are already hearing good reports of people being able to share the gospel with friends and family who are more open at this time.

  1. please continue to pray for us here in Norris Green Liverpool. As with all other churches we have had to stop meeting at the church, unfortunately non of us at NGBC are IT savvy and therefore are not in a position live stream any services. We of course keep in touch by phone.
