August 2019 Update

The contrast between our arrival in London six years ago and our leaving for furlough could not have been greater. When we arrived, we knew very few people and had a lonely first year until we got started. When we left, there were many tearful goodbye and hugs. God was so good to us during our time in London, and we are so grateful for His blessings.

Please continue to pray for Downham Baptist Church. Pray for Chris Waye and the other leaders in the church. Pray for the church to be strong and to grow. Pray for young men who will desire to preach God’s Word.

Also, please pray for us during our furlough. We are excited to now be in a rented house in Atlanta, Georgia, near to our home church. We are very thankful for the members of our family and our church who helped us get settled in America.

We are looking forward to reporting on the work, and we are praying for God to raise up more labourers. While in Atlanta, we are grateful for the opportunity to encourage the young people at the Our Generation Training Center who are training for missions. If you know someone interested in missions, please encourage them to consider the OGTC (ogtc.info).

During our last few weeks in the UK, we were privileged to have our pastor, Austin Gardner, and the director of our mission, Jeff Bush, there to minister in the church and to teach a conference for the Vision Baptist missionaries in Europe. We had a great week of learning and encouragement. Please pray for God to do great things in Europe for His honor and glory.

It is looking like Northwest Baptist may be able to move into their new building by the end of September. All major renovations such as windows, plumbing, wiring and heating to the entire building are almost done. Now, builders are working on removing an archway from the meeting room and getting it ready for the church to meet. As the church works to finish decorating and furnishing the building, they have put together a list of the various needs they have.
