February 2021 Update
We are very thankful for the Lord’s blessings this past month.
Downham Baptist (SE London) – Despite lower than usual attendances, we have had several visitors over the last few weeks. This week, a family will be getting baptized and will join the church. In January, the church voted to hire Ricardo Hipolito as an assistant pastor. Ricardo recently graduated from Bible college and his will start at Downham the end of April.
Vision Bible Institute – On January 30th, we started a Saturday morning Bible institute. Nine people have joined in person or online to gain deeper theological knowledge and practical skills for local church ministry. Please pray for God to use the institute to equip people for ministry.
Colchester Bible Study (Essex) – We continue to meet weekly over Zoom with about twenty people from Colchester and the surrounding areas. This week, we have a special evangelistic event with a former British soldier giving his testimony. Please pray for people to be saved and for wisdom as we work toward starting a church in Colchester. We hope to be able to start having in-person services by May.
Tunbridge Wells (Kent) – One of the ladies from Downham has a burden for Tunbridge Wells, a town of 60,000 which is a thirty-minute drive southeast of London. Her friend has lent us a vacant shop for the next four weeks. We have been giving out gospel literature and invitations to a four-week Bible study on the family. Please pray for God to bless these meetings that start on February 16th.
VBM Europe Update – God willing, Sam and Beth Quinn will arrive in England on February 24. Please pray for them as they get set up and serve with us initially and then launch out to start other churches. Also, Brady and Sarah Van Winkle just returned to Turkey after a short furlough. Pray for them as they work to rent a building and start a church in Izmir. Europe is desperately in need of more laborers. Would you pray for more missionaries to Europe?
VBM North America Update – Church-planters Jon Canavan and Ben Johnson are planning to move to New York this summer to start their first church there. Pray for God to open doors for them. Also, Daniel Sparks and his family are hoping to move to Miami soon. Pray for the remaining support to come in for these families.
