May 2019 Update

Trip to Northern Ireland – April began with a four-day trip to Northern Ireland. Grant and Darci went with me. Darci stayed with family friends, while Grant and I stayed in the new church building. We helped Pastor James and some of the men remove a bunch of rubbish from the new building and prepare the old building for moving. We also worked on renovation plans and installed a new back gate. Please pray for renovation plans to finalize and builders to be able to start soon.

Reach London – We hosted our first London Reach conference the week before Easter. Alan Campbell, a good pastor friend, was at our church leading the teaching and outreach. Only a few from our church were able to take part, but a few individuals from other churches came. Together, we had some very good days of sharing the gospel on the streets. We were encouraged to have a few visitors on Easter Sunday from the outreach.

Trip to Peterborough – Things sometimes get so busy in the ministry that it is hard for us to find time to visit others. This month, however, we were able to visit some friends of ours, Jonathan and Natalie Vandenhurk who are serving in Peterborough, England. This city has about 200,000 people. The Vandenhurks are doing a wonderful job sharing the gospel there and are seeing God open many doors. Please continue to pray for many cities and towns across the UK that still are in need of strong Bible-believing, Gospel-preaching churches.

Furlough Plans – We now have right at three months until we return to America for furlough. It has been six years since our last furlough, so we are very excited to see our families, to be at our home church, to share with our supporters what the Lord has been doing and to raise some much-needed new support. We are also so grateful for our co-laborers, Chris and Sherry Waye, who helped us plant Downham Baptist Church in 2014 and are going to be leading the church while we are on furlough. They are wonderful servants of the Lord, and we are so grateful to work together with them.
