May 2024 Update
Mozambique is a country in southern Africa with a population of over 34 million people and very few independent Baptist missionaries. Recently, a number of couples have surrendered to go to this needy country including VBM missionaries, Noah & Tristan Wilkerson and Jacob & Christen Clower. Both families have recently left for the field. Please pray for them as they learn the Portuguese language and prepare to plant churches in Mozambique.
In addition to these first VBM missionaries to Mozambique, we also had a VBM missionary family (Praters) leave for Paraguay, another family (Broyles) about to leave for Albania and another family (Tyler and Brianna Chandler) just join VBM last month on their way to Brazil. Our prayer is that eventually, we will have missionaries with VBM in every country and region around the world. If we can help you get to the mission field, please let us know.
Thank you for praying for us over the last few months. The Lord blessed our annual missionary orientation, leadership retreat, Pastor Advisory Committee meeting, Board of Directors meeting, as well as our annual financial audit. We also had our spring Open House for the Our Generation Training Center and the OGTC Commencement Ceremony with ten students and six interns graduating from our training program! Please pray for these young people as they find their place in the Lord’s work!
We are currently in the summer season at Vision Baptist Missions, with three World’s Cheapest Mission Trips taking place. We also are remodeling one of our buildings to make space for a guy’s dormitory on campus. The new dorm will make space for twelve men and save us $1300/month. If you would like to take part in this project, let me know and I can share more details.
Finally, we completed a survey of our missionaries and the work the Lord did through them in 2023. We praise the Lord for the 931 professions of faith, 364 baptisms, 40 pastors and leaders trained, and 13 churches started last year! Pray that we will see these numbers grow in 2024.
