February 2024 Update
“I think I should read the Bible for myself!” – These were the profound words of a young man on the streets of Colchester this past Saturday. While Grant and I were out sharing the gospel alongside Missionary Pastor Sam Quinn and men from Headgate Baptist Church, I had the opportunity to hear this young man’s journey into Buddhism. After I asked him what he thought of Jesus and showed him John 14:6, he confessed his willingness to read the Bible. I was privileged to give him a New Testament and explain more of the gospel. Please pray for this young man and many others like him around the world who need Jesus!
My conversation in Colchester was during a trip our family was able to take back to England to visit the churches we started in London and Colchester. It was a great blessing to renew fellowship with so many friends. Please pray for Downham Baptist in London as they are currently looking for a new pastor and also having to move out of their building which is being sold. Pray as well for growth and fruit from the faithful outreach of Headgate Baptist in Colchester.
Back in America, in addition to all of our responsibilities at the home office of Vision Baptist Missions, we have been able to be involved in sharing the gospel and discipling others through the ministry of our home church. Teri had the opportunity to share the gospel with a lady from Thailand who recently visited our church. As a result of studying the Bible and the power of the gospel, she turned to Christ from Buddhism!
Since our last letter, the Tim Johnson family has joined VBM as missionaries to South Africa! They have been in the ministry for many years and completed a six-month missions training program at their home church. Please pray for the Johnsons as they begin deputation and for several other missionary candidates who are in the process of applying to VBM.
$2,025 has been given to the VBM Campus building project. This remodeling project includes the repair of the foundation, floor, walls, and ceiling of what will become our main VBM missionary training building (the “Carey Center”). We need a total of $175,630. If you’d like to invest in training the next generation of church-planting missionaries, send your donation to VBM and mark “VBM Campus.”
Once again, thank you for your faithful prayers and support! If we can be of help to you or your church in the area of world missions, please let us know.
