September 2026 Update
Over the past few months, we’ve had the opportunity to minister in churches in Alabama, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida. It was a special honor to participate in the missions conference at our sending church. As part of the conference, I presented the following numbers from Joshua Project:
- 11% of the world (0.91 billion) profess true faith in Christ (“evangelical Christians”)
- 21% (1.74 billion) are Christians in name only (“nominal Christians”)
- 40% (3.32 billion) have limited access to the gospel
- 28% (2.32 billion) have virtually no access to the gospel
With nearly 7.5 billion people in our world not professing faith in Christ, let us obey Jesus’ instructions in Matthew 9:38 and continue praying for laborers.
Zachariah and Lydia Patton are new missionaries with Vision Baptist Missions on their way to Taiwan. Please pray for them as they begin deputation and reach out to Zachariah via email if you would like to schedule them to come to your church.
We have had a few new students join us for our fall semester. Please pray for Teri and me as we teach English Composition (Teri) and Theology (Travis), and for all of our faculty members. Also, please pray for several students who are currently on their internships or have just completed them. Pray for God to use this time of on-the-field training to equip them and guide them as they consider missionary service.
Our son Grant leaves September 16th for a six-month internship in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Thank you for praying for him as he serves alongside missionaries Dallas and Ashley Brown, as well as other missionaries there.
As we approach the fall season, we’d love to invite you to the Preview Day at Vision Baptist Missions on November 19th. Preview Day is a one-day exploration of missions pathways for high school/college students and others who desire to get more involved in missionary service.
