Update: Northern Ireland Report

Northwest

On last Thursday, we returned from a two week trip to Northern Ireland. The purpose of the trip was to visit with many of our friends there and to have some time away as a family. It was very good to reconnect with friends that we have known for years. We will always have a soft place in our heart for Northern Ireland and the people there.

It was very encouraging to attend Northwest Baptist Church in Derry/Londonderry while there. The Lord allowed us to plant the church back in 2007. Some of the original people who attended in the early days are still going, and there are also some new people going to the church now. Currently, there are about 15 faithful adults who attend every week and several others who go occasionally.

The city where the church is located has been the scene of much unrest over the years due to “the Troubles.” Thankfully, much of that has passed, but it is still quite amazing see God work in hearts and build His church in a very challenging part of the world.

Please continue to pray for the church there and for James Wilson as he leads and pastors the church. I will be returning with Chris Waye and my pastor Austin Gardner on Thursday, 4 September for James’ ordination service.
